We are never nearer the heart of God than when we share our life with domestic pets. Everything from the heart of the animal operates in unconditional fashion, ever reminding us that God’s love, too, is unconditional. They are our family, those gifts from God that fill our world with such beauty and devotion. They are our link to an ancient harmony once kept in “The Garden” and a precursor to the unimagined beauty of the life promised.
