WORLD SEA TURTLE DAY & OCEAN PUBLISHING

Two of our favorite “peoples” on the planet are conservationists Frank Gromling, Publisher/Owner of Ocean Publishing, and his wife Bibi!
They are real people with real concerns for the marine life of Florida. Frank has co-authored a poignant, wonderful book with fellow conservationist Mike Cavaliere titled, “Tracks in the Sand.”
Living on Florida’s east coast, we are blessed with the annual migration of sea turtles in numbers from the sea to the shore where they lay their eggs. The national calendar shows Friday, June 18th as World Sea Turtle Day and Frank and Company celebrated the day with an open house at his company’s ocean-front office on Flagler Beach. This is a perfect example of corporate responsibility reaching out to embrace and further the efforts of rightly ordered stewardship towards creation and the surrounding community.

The Volusia-Flagler County Sea Turtle Patrol was on hand to share one-on-one conversations with attendees to raise awareness about sea turtle nests and habitats.

.
Also in attendance was artist Rick Cannizzaro who donated proceeds from the sale of his outstanding sea turtle print to the Turtle Patrol. Rick’s work can be seen at the Gallery of Local Art.

.
Later that day, Frank was doing a book signing on Neptune Beach at the First Street Gallery where he hung out with friends from the Beaches Sea Turtle Patrol in celebration of their 8th Annual Beaches Sea Turtle Patrol fundraiser.
.
Sea turtles are a marine treasure, inter-connected with their human neighbors in a cooperative way, as man and turtle work to insure the continued migration and successful hatching of future generations.
