December 21, 2009: Stewards of the Infant King
The birth of the Jesus our Savior finds the shepherd’s in the fields being visited by throngs of Angels announcing the good news! In response, these Stewards of the Infant King doubtless gathered their little lambs so as not to arrive empty handed and headed for the hillside grotto where The Infant King lay.
There their eyes fell upon the little body of Jesus filled with the Light of Glory, and the eyes of Jesus looked upon them filling their hearts to bursting with the Christmas JOY!
So too, we must look at what we can bring to the Holy Crib.
Jesus has looked upon us, giving to us the way, the truth and eternal life, He asks each of us to be His hands, His feet and His heart filled with compassion to serve one another and to care for the Father’s great gift of all Creation.
What have you done to take the light of Christ to a neighbor this Christmas?
Who have you comforted with the love of Jesus to help and heal?
Where have you taken your family on the journey to Bethlehem?
How will you thank and praise the Most High God who brings salvation to ALL the world?
Let us all be shepherds on the plains of Bethlehem, Stewards of the Infant King, filled with fervor and love to serve The One who came to serve and save us.
Let us embrace this heavenly peace that only Jesus can give and vow to make this New Year one that is filled with love and The Light of Truth; Peace among men of good will.”
