November 16, 2009: With Heartfelt Thanks to Father Ron
Dear Father Camarda,
As we watched the beginning of your program last night, the photo of you with the soldiers caught my eye. We spent 12 months in Gainesville, Florida in 1996-97. My husband, active duty Air Force at the time, was doing a deferred fellowship at the University of Florida, Shands Hospital. While there, our third son was born. He was Baptized by you in June of 1997 just before we moved back to San Antonio where my husband would spend 5 more years serving in the USAF. We now have 5 children and live in Winston-Salem, NC.
Shaugnessy Bret is now 13 years old and for a few years now, has spoken very confidently about becoming a Priest. He loves to study the history of our faith and is an altar server at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.
Thank you, Father, for serving God, our country, and our family. It was with great admiration and respect that we watched your story unfold last night. We are deeply grateful for your sacrifices.
God’s peace be with you always.
