October 26, 2009: Celebrity Guest Focus–Pope Benedict XVI

October on the Church’s calendar is full of wonderful feast days, the least not being October 4th, which is the Feast Day of Saint Francis of Assisi. This month, we have honored this great saint by sharing insight into his life and the wonderful celebration of the Blessing of the Animals.

It seems appropriate then, that we end this month with an insight into our present Holy Father, Pope Benedcit the XVI and his love for all the animals of creation. Like his predecessor before him, Pope John Paul II, he addresses creation as a gift that God has given all humanity, both creation and its creatures, and continues to speak to man’s need to be a better steward of creation.

Below are two videos of the Holy Father in Sydney, Australia, that perhaps you haven’t seen. We find them to be the perfect finish to a very special stewardship month and a Celebrity Column par excellence!!!
