July 25, 2011: The Abundance of Color

This painting called “Wonders of the Reef” that I painted recently has captured the vivid colorful life of the coral reef. Color is abundant all around us. In many ways the color that is in all creatures of creation has a message. There are warm colors, hot colors, cool colors, bright colors, sensitive colors, all sending a message to our senses. Our attention is caught when we see a beautiful bird like the Cardinal flying over our heads with his bright red color. The blue green Parrot fish that glows in the tropical waters as it swims through the multicolored coral is another example. There is no doubt in my mind that our Creator is using these colors as a message. He is letting us know in His way that He is responsible for all things that surround us. Myself as a painter can never come close to what He creates in color, and that is why I know He really exists. Seeing the abundance of color around us should make us all feel safe, safe in knowing that God is sending us the message that He is with us and always will be.
