October 31, 2011: Longing for Sainthood

~by Susi Pittman

We cannot imagine the divine power of Christ as he suffered, died, arose and redeemed man and all of creation….the moment that transformation and restoration was given to the entire universe.

Imagine the resounding tremor that flew across nature as the first drop of His Precious Blood had touched the earth. Imagine the screech of Satan as human souls were given access to salvation and eternal life with God through Jesus, if they would but believe.

From the moment the Lord of “all that is, was and is to be” suffered the loss of His first drop of blood, the universe gasped and all creation stopped in time to witness the horrific undertaking of its Lord and Savior.

And he who was sitting on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new!” And he said, “Write for these words are trustworthy and true.” And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.” Jesus, Revelations 21: 5-6

Jesus took all mankind, all man’s sins and all of the created universe upon Himself to deliver it from death and destruction.

Many times throughout the month of November, I tend to reflect on my own mortality, really, in response to the focus that the Church puts upon the next life. It is throughout the month that we pray for our deceased relatives who are in transition to the Beatific Vision and we pray to our holy family of Saints that wait for arrival in Heaven.

In the scripture above, Jesus tells us that HE makes ALL THINGS new! That HE is the FIRST means and LAST end of ALL THINGS in this universe. Everything returns to HIM where it will either find eternal rest or eternal damnation.

Creation brought into existence to reflect God, praise God and to be submissive to the will of man, finds its end in the divine providence that God has prepared for it eternally.

We humans, by our choosing to love or hate God and the things of God, will be judged accordingly.

There is one scripture that should remain in our hearts at all times while we traverse our journey on earth:

For he has made known to us in all wisdom and insight the mystery of his will, according his purpose which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite ALL things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. Ephesians 1:9-10

I want to be where GOD IS!!

I want to be united to the ONE who unites ALL to HIMSELF in perfect love. Don’t you?
