October 11, 2010: Sunrise, Sunset–Quickly Go the Days

This past weekend I had the pleasure of being on the west coast of Florida, enjoying the panoramic beauty of one of their western sunsets. Unlike the east coast of Florida, where the sunrises give hope to the new day, it is in those western sunsets that my mind is allowed to wander back over the day past like a child with her toes in a stream.

I marvel at how God set the days to His divine symphonic hours in the natural splendor detailed about me. Even when there is no music, it’s as though the symphony of His love is being played out in the surrounding creation with such vibrato!

I love being alone in the beauty and sanctuary of creation. All that I can see, smell and touch is like a gift wrapped in the soft song of angels who breathe “thanksgiving” into my ear and my heart is raised in prayer to my loving Creator.

I long for the eternal “lingering” in the beauty of the glorified natural.
