November 11, 2014: SUNRISE-SUNSET, Quickly go the days

~by Susi Pittman

If ever there is a time of day to stop and listen to God, it has to be at the setting sun. Whether you are driving or making a point to be seated in your favorite chair when it happens, there is a certain “awe” that settles upon us as the sun bids farewell at day’s end. Where the sunrises give hope to the new day, it is in those western sunsets that my mind is allowed to wander back over the day past like a child with her toes in a stream.

I marvel at how God set the days to His divine symphonic hours in the natural splendor detailed about me. There isn’t music the ear can hear, but it’s as though the symphony of God’s love is being played out in the surrounding creation with such vibrato!

O the sanctuary of creation!. All that I can see, smell and touch is like a gift wrapped in the soft song of angels who breathe “thanksgiving” into my spiritual ear and my heart is raised in prayer to my loving Creator.

I long for the eternal lingering in the beauty of the glorified natural that is to come!
