October 1, 2012: LOST But Now Found

~ by Mary Galvano

Last week my brother told me the wonderful news of his soon to be adopted companion, that is, his new canine. Hunter was an abandoned yellow lab that was found at the side of a road near the Gulf shores of Alabama, an area that was affected by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

By the grace of God, this yellow lab was rescued by a wonderful facility called All About Dogs Coastal Rescue. Many animals are threatened by natural disasters such as hurricanes and sadly are left to fend for themselves.

It is a shame that such a beautiful animal was neglected so, but he is going to be in good hands because of the heart and care of these angels that take in abused and neglected dogs. It is their mission to find loving homes for these furry friends, and what is really impressive is the time and hard work that the volunteers take in doing so.

My brother is still waiting for approval. Before anyone can adopt a dog through All About Dogs Coastal Rescue a thorough investigation of the hopeful new owner’s lifestyle and background has to be done and approved. This is to make sure he won’t be put in any threatening environment. The workers even come out to the home of the candidate to have his or her home inspected. It is pleasing to hear this. This is how all adoptions of animals should be done.

I was happy to see that All About Dogs Coastal Rescue even has a golf tournament called “Going to the Dogs” benefiting the nonprofit organization!

Please, check out their website and see what they are all about. Organizations like these need support and prayers. God willing, one day all the animal facilities will be as loving as this one is.
