November 20, 2013: God Is Always There

~ by Mary Galvano

One of my favorite things to do is to spend time outdoors surrounded by God’s creations. I especially love mornings. My husband and I live on a lake and we see such beautiful sunrises. It used to be, since I am a native South West Florida girl, I enjoyed seeing more sunsets. The Gulf of Mexico is famous along Florida’s coastline for its sunsets. In fact, there is great celebration in some areas for these sunsets. The locals and tourists cheer as the sun goes down hoping to see a green flash, which appears at the moment of completed sunset!

This morning, as I gaze out and notice the sunlight hit the water, I see diamonds dancing for His glory. I can’t help to sing, “Glory to God in the highest”. When I lived in Ft. Myers, oftentimes I would drive out to Captiva Island, which is at the tip of Sanibel Island, and go to a remote beach area and start dancing in the sand and singing. I usually sing “How Great Thou Art” as part of my repertoire, I am sure if anyone saw me they were entertained. I danced and sang to praise God’s glory! He deserves our praise. There is no better feeling than to let go and praise Him freely. One of my favorite quotes is, “Dance as though no one is watching you, love as though you have never been hurt before, sing as though no one can hear you, and live as though heaven is on earth.” – Souza.

It is easy to feel His presence in our favorite places and we should spend time alone with Him, but it’s when we are out in the world that we need Him the most.

“Vocatus atque non vocatus, Deus aderit”, Latin for, “Bidden or not bidden, God is present.” No matter where we are or what we are doing God is there. All we have to do is take the time to notice. He is everywhere! This is cause for great celebration and singing! He is there watching us and guiding us. He will never abandon you. By knowing this we can face anything. All you have to say to yourself is the name “Jesus” and you will feel His presence.

The next time you are alone or afraid say that most wonderful, powerful name…Jesus. It works!

Today, keep Jesus close to your heart noticing Him wherever you go and you will have nothing to fear. And whether in a dance or a song, a sunrise or sunset, God is present. Rejoice!
