July 25, 2011: How Could Heaven Be Anything Less?

~ by Mary Galvano

Looking out at the sunrise this morning a great blue heron flew in to perch on the fence in the backyard. His wings formed different positions around his body as though he was posing for an artist. At that time a family of thirty ducks came walking up waiting for the sprinklers to turn on. They love to get sprinkled with the water. Princess, my funny little poodle, kept looking out the window wanting to go chase them away, as usual, until I distracted her with her favorite toy. I love my furry friend. She knows it, too.

All these things are God’s creations, and so are we. God’s creations are joyful and heavenly.

Will these things really continue their existence in heaven? How could heaven be anything less? Why would God create such beauty to only destroy it? Heaven is full of these things, and more. Heaven is the ultimate creation.

If you think all the animals and glorious surroundings are merely here on Earth to be taken away, think again. The beautiful things we see here are only a fracture of what is waiting for us in the Kingdom of Heaven. Eye has not seen nor ear has heard what God has waiting for those who love him. We will be with loved ones again, and with all of God’s creations. Heaven could not be anything less. No, it is so much more.
