February 6, 2013: Good Morning, Sunshine!

~ by Mary Galvano

One of the great things about being around children is their ability to make old things new. What we take for granted is something special to them. We can walk past something wonderful many times over and not notice it until they open our eyes to stop and notice what we are missing. My little girl constantly reminds me to open my eyes to things around me.

Before sunrise I like to take my baby and my dog outside to get some fresh air and to enjoy the splendors of the morning. What gets me is that even though I do praise God for the new day, I don’t give it the enthusiasm like my daughter does. As birds fly around us she raises her arms way up in the air to say “hi” and babbles back to them. It looks like she is praising God, and so she is. Then when the sun is about to appear. I say, “Here comes the sun!” With that she applauds with a big smile on her face. When is the last time you applauded for the sunrise? This is the greatest show on Earth. Not one person can create this type of production, only God can. He owns the stage setting!

We need to be like children everyday. See the world through the eyes of a child and see the wonders that God as given us for free. The next time we see the beauty of the sunrise or see the stars in the skies, or simply look into the eyes of a child let us remember to applaud and give praise to God.

Thank you God for all the wonders of the Earth! Enjoy this beautiful meditation video.
