April 10, 2013: The Mighty Inventor

~ by Mary Galvano

Thomas Edison once said, “Until man duplicates a blade of grass, nature can laugh at his so-called scientific knowledge.” He also said that the science of chemistry alone proves the existence of an intelligent creator.

Here was a man who became one of the world’s greatest inventor’s and yet he still knew that no person could ever top the inventions of God. A simple blade of grass is more complicated than anything that we could put together. The greatest invention, however, is life, especially life created in the image of God. That’s right. God created us in His image! We can be sure that God does indeed exist when we look at a new born baby or any life for that matter.

How about the universe? He invented that, too. It is amazing and a mystery how God, the Mighty Inventor, could do all these magnificent things and yet still love us poor creatures so much that he sent His only Son to give us eternal life.

But what are we doing to preserve and protect all that is good? We are to make good use of the resources that are given to us. God put us on Earth to be stewards of His creations. Our paths should be to advance human life, not destroy it, and most of all getting to Heaven. Our inventions and talents are good only if they can do this.

Whatever you are striving for let it be for a higher purpose. Everything should be for the glory of God. In return God will bless your efforts to even greater heights.

With all the destruction in the world, especially the killing of innocent lives, we need God more than ever and to use our talents to bring peace and harmony into the world. People are hungry for Jesus. They need to hear His teachings and take comfort in His rising, and have confirmation that one day He will come again. All the inventions and goals that we have can be a means of bringing to the world the Word of God.

With Earth Day soon approaching let us thank God for the gift of all that He created for our good use. Pray that we can all be wise in using the resources given to us for His glory.
