ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Susi Pittman was born in 1950, in Winter Haven, Florida. Currently, she is a Catholic layman residing in the Diocese of Saint Augustine, Florida, with her daughter, Seana, son-in-law, David, and their two children, along with 14 rescued animals. Over the years, 79 animals have been nursed, rescued or adopted by Susi who takes seriously the need to attend to what Saint Francis called our “lesser brethren.”

She is a Catholic convert who chose at the age of eight to pursue her desire of becoming Catholic. She was married to Greg Pittman, another Catholic convert, who shared her love of animals and the Catholic faith. Greg succumbed to a long-fought battle with throat cancer in January 2008. Eight days before his death, Greg made her promise to finish writing and to publish her book on the destiny of animals and creation.

As a devout Catholic and steward of creation, Susi is a committed conservationist and now spends her time on ecological and animal issues as well as being an advocate for the Florida Catholic Conference.
