A Prayer for Daisy Mae’s Healing, Comfort, & Karen’s Wisdom to Know When “It’s Time”

From Karen S.:

Please pray for our family’s Boston Terrier. Her name is Daisy Mae and is just a month shy of being 13 years old. She was diagnosed with liver cancer last week. Daisy Mae has been with me through thick and thin. She laid by my side as I healed from 3 major spinal fusion surgeries. She even travels with me when I drive to Texas to see my Mother. Of course, I pray for a miracle for her to be healed. But, I also pray to know when it is time to release her to her creator. She isn’t in much pain now and she is still eating and playing some. The only clue that something was wrong is weight loss and her abdomen is swollen. I thank everyone for the prayers. My friends call me the prayer warrior because I know how powerful prayers are.

Karen, my heart goes out to you. You and I share a lot in common in the way we approach the inevitable with our beloved pet family. I lost my great and courageous Dutch July 2004 to liver cancer. We will pray first for a miracle and also for your discernment. When that time comes you will know by Daisy Mae’s actions and what I call “the look” that tells you, I am so tired, I am ready to go. You will know.

Jesus, lover of all You have created, we ask for a miracle healing for Daisy Mae, perhaps just a little more time for the family to love her. She has been Your wonderful gift to Karen and her family and we unite our thanks with theirs for her presence in their life. We ask that St. Francis, St. Anthony and St. Roch unite their intercessions for Daisy Mae’s health and the family’s peace with our prayer, so that it may be received perfectly presented. You are a loving Lord and you call all “good” home. Blessed be Your name forever. Amen.
